“It’s about the little, consistent things we do everyday that makes the difference!” – Simon Sinek
Are you struggling trying to get through a big task? Are you overwhelmed? Are you working on changing something about yourself? I sometimes get overwhelmed by a big goal. I am learning that focusing on the little things helps me to knock out little chunks which then make the whole thing less daunting. The process is the same no matter whether it is cleaning your garage, fixing a broken process in your department, or working on something in your own life. Concentrate on the small steps you can take. Here’s a few steps to help get things on track:
Think about and write down in a quick note what the end should look like.
Figure out the first thing you can do to get started, no matter how small it seems.
When you finish the first task, figure out the next one.
Write down and celebrate your wins.
Change isn’t always easy, but it is how we become better at who we are and what we do.
